Designer Feature Series: Meet Velvet Feather

About Velvet Feather:

I recently graduated from a fine art degree and I moved back to London from the sunny seaside town of Falmouth  to carry on my creative life. Velvet feather came about after I expanded my small jewellery line rubyraelove, this july. I am from an art background so being creative has always been part of my daily life, when I am not working as a teaching assistant I spend my time painting and making. Each piece made at velvet feather is recycled or sustainably sourced I am very passionate about each piece I make its all about affordable beautiful pieces.

Inspirations:

I am often inspired by vintage and recycling, and working with natural materials, like feathers, dried flowers and clay. I am a trained artist and illustrator so I always try to make each piece individual and special. My work is unique because I source everything ethically and most of my pieces are hand-made, by me in my little studio in my room. I am often inspired by artist like the pre-Raphaelites I try to incorporate the colours and delicacy of their style into my work.
