I’m a tea lovin’ cake chompin’ knitaholic !!! I also love dancing around my house, cartwheeling , going to the seaside, playing with cats, talking, and food, I love food.
After 4 years at University I had acquired some skillz on the knitting machine and was itching to make something just cos I liked it, y’know?! I got a knitting machine for my birthday and started by making scarves and selling them through a friend’s stall in Manchester. It has just developed from there.Another best seller is the bow scarf, I think the cuteness and simplicity of this design is what people like.
I will be selling a wide range of knitted goodies, scarves, brooches, cushions to name a few... including some special festive knits for the occasion!
I completed my Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in 2005 and worked for several years at a firm in
I am inspired by objects or images that have been neglected or forgotten and enjoy making them into objects that people will treasure again as wearable art.
My range of earrings come in two different sizes and in a zillion and three different designs. Each pair is unique and come with their own quirky image or pattern.
At the We Make Christmas Fair I will be stocking my usual variety of earrings, necklaces and brooches along with come special new designs which will make the perfect unique gift for your friends and family this Christmas.

Gemma Lou, illustrator/ textile artist. I live in Oxfordshire and have always lived in the same house. I have a National Diploma in general art and design, and a Degree in graphic design and illustration. I now work mainly in textiles, creating 2-D illustration and 3-D characters. I also use photography, drawing and the computer in my process. My work has been shown at various places including: Banbury museum, North Wall arts centre Summertown, Liverpool Artists book fair and Cotswold Craft market.
I like my characters to have a feeling that they have already been loved and have a story to tell.
Inspirations:
I always make one of a kind characters, so each one feels special. Although I have now got a few character designs to make multiples, but no two ever turn out the same. They just evolve from the fabric I choose. Each character does come with one of my labels attached.
As well as lots of fabric characters, there will be printed items, handmade books and smaller creatures in boxes!
