Lucie Ellen Designer Feature:

ABOUT LUCIE ELLEN:

My name is Lucie Beeston, and I started the Lucie Ellen line about 4 years ago after leaving my Graphic Design degree with a need to do something with my hands. I do all of my making in my shed/studio in my garden in Suffolk, turning broken plates and reclaimed wood into lovely things to wear and use.

MY INSPIRATIONS:

I think my main motivation is creating things that people will cherish from things that would have otherwise ended up in the bin. Broken china, offcuts of wood, falling apart books and scraps of paper - it’s all in there. Because of this, my work has a very 40s/50s feel, which I love.

BEST SELLER:

My brooches cut from broken china are my biggest seller. No two brooches are ever the same - it’s recycling at it’s prettiest!

WE MAKE CHRISTMAS:

At the We Make London Christmas Fair you can expect to see a dazzling array of vintage china brooches and earrings, along with coasters made in the same way. Expect bunting necklaces galore and a new range of wooden jewels!

Lok Ming Fung Designer Feature:

You/Inspiration:

Lok Ming Fung is a ceramic designer maker who has always been fascinated and intrigued by texture.
A British born Chinese, she is constantly discovering and inspired by both cultures she grew up with as well as in other cultures. She also finds inspiration from Mother Nature and loves trawling through charity shops finding nostalgic items.

‘Oohhh…’ is a collection of boxes that was inspired by the Japanese Inro boxes and Russian dolls. With the elements of ‘hiding/wrapping’, enclose, open and surprise, all these elements contribute to the enjoyment of the revealing.

Best Sellers:

The ‘Oohhh...’ White with green box and the colourful jewellery are my best sellers. The decorations are hand applied making each piece unique and different!

We Make Christmas:

Buyers will find ceramic boxes and jewellery at We Make and the new range of porcelain jewellery.

Price ranges from as little as £12 to £150.

Just Noey Designer Feature:

About Just Noey:

My name is Parul Arora and I am a London based illustrator and designer with an extensive background in digital design and animation. In the past year I have branched out into designing ceramics, under the Just Noey name, to create a range of beautiful and unique tableware.

Food and the rituals surrounding it have always been an integral part of our social life but in adulthood they can often be portrayed as uptight affairs governed by many rules and regulations. With my work I want to put some playfulness back into dining! To make it more fun and a little less formal whilst still retaining a strong design aesthetic.

Inspirations:

Inspiration for me comes from many places… From vintage shops to found objects on the roadside, film photography to postcard fairs all find a place in my studio and eventually in the pages of my sketchbooks. But the biggest inspiration of all for me is my love for food - to cook, eat and draw

Best Sellers:

Post-a-plates are unique Postcard Sushi Plates. The plates are created using my illustrations and vintage postcards that I have been collecting over the years.

We Make Christmas:

At We Make I'll be showcasing all my current lines of tableware including Post-a-plates, Alphabet dinner plates, My Cuppa Mugs, Polaroid coasters and also a brand new winter line that I've produced for this holiday season.
