Gift Guide: Jewellery
Gift Guide Written By Tracy Brown From White Lily Green
A Alicia makes really interesting jewellery made from organic fabrics. A clever twist on typical jewellery trends. I love this bangle. It's modern and unique, but still has that glamorous luxury about it. More and more people suffer from metal allergies so jewellery such as this is a brilliant solution.
How fantastic is the Zip jewellery range from Blue Eyed Girl?! I particularly heart the zip bangles. Such a fashionable statement, yet comfortable to wear.
These stunning earrings are inspired by the designers love for lace, crochet and traditional doilies. They are beautifully intricate and are perfect to wear everyday.
Sterling Silver Eternal Stackable Rings
I have these, and I love them. I wear them everyday and mean the world to me. I actually bought these as a substitute for a tattoo and had the names on my children engraved inside each ring. They are simple, and pretty and I can wear them night or day. These would make a fabulous Mothers Day present or a gift for a new Mum.
Jades jewellery is created using 'recycled fabrics alongside items such as glass beads, freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones, watch mechanisms and other collectables'. In an age where we are encouraged to reuse, recycle or 'upcycle', I think these design ideas are a fantastic example of just that. Each piece is custom made and completely unique.
Pearly pea silver pod
Just stunning. I love the use of freshwater pearls as the 'peas'. Completely original to anything I have seen before. A perfect gift for that special lady who 'has everything'.
Another fabulous ethical handmade designer who's stunning pieces create contemporary heirlooms. Their 'Dixie' necklace is beautiful. The detail is intricate and all their pieces are so enchanting.
Here are some of my other favourites from the We Make Exhibitors
Natalie Nicklin Designer Feature:
About Natalie Nicklin:
I am a designer/illustrator/artist/none of/ all of above. My work lies somewehre between these disiplins within the blurred boundaries between art, design and simply making things.
I make screen prints, collages, digital illustrations and paintings. Design logos, fonts and t-shirts; take photographs with various knackered old cameras and my shiny SLR. A lot of my work uses found images and analog photography but I'm almost as likely to draw, scrawl or use digital sources. My interests lie in the old and the new, the broken and the fixed, the future and the past. But mainly an old broken future that exists only in arcane archives or people's unreliable memories.
Inspirations:
Space, geometric patterns, visions of the future, music, forgotten lost places, trees, the past as it is now, as it will be and as it never was, science, colours, paper, mountains, forests, concrete, British new town, skyscrapers, broken stuff and things I don't understand.
Best Sellers:
I'm pretty happy about "Reflection"which has recently been selected to be included in a collection curated by urban outfitters and sold via their print shop. Appartment Therapy selected it as one of their favourite piece in the collection.

Picciolo Designer Feature:
About Picciolo:
All Picciolo items are produced by me - a London-based designer who isn't very good at sitting still and doing nothing. I love sewing and creating and all my items are handmade using quality materials and lots of care and attention to detail. I make an ever-expanding range of useful and stylish handmade items for yourself and the home, including: pouches/purses, original artwork, prints, cards, keyrings, homes for pins, notebooks, fabric boxes, bags and home decorations. I have also just launched a new line of necklaces which is an exciting new direction for picciolo.
Inspirations:
A lot of my inspiration comes from nature, with imagery based around leaves, trees and birds. I love combining different materials and creating new products that are both useful and special.
My fabric boxes and pouches/purses are my bestsellers, both items come in a wide range of colours and include my signature designs.
We Make Summer Fair:
