Panto Time:

The theme for the fair is pantomime, we have heard rumours that Sow White and Peter Pan will be paying a visit with some other panto friends. We are running a fancy dress competition. Arrive in fancy dress and you will be given free entry. You will also have your picture taken by our lovely photographer Sibell Barrowclough. Choir:

We have a lovely choir The Jubilee Singers, they will be preforming at 11.30 til 12.00 and 12.30 til 1.00. They will be collecting money for charity.

Cafe:




To escape from the cold on saturday we are sure you will be tempted by the yummy menu on offer from our cafe at the town hall. Mince pies, yule log, festive sandwiches, and mulled wine, plus lots more. The cafe will be open all day.

Panto Season is Coming to Town....Fancy Dress Competition

The stage is set on the 4th December for a special panto-themed Christmas art and craft show - the curtain lifts for shoppers to discover over 80 festive stalls drapped in homemade delights.

We have heard rumours that Snow white will be making a visit.

Want to get involved?....Oh Yes you do...

We will be running a fancy dress competition.
Anyone that arrives in a panto or christmas costume will be given free entry.
They will also have their pixture taken which will appear as a special panto feature on our blog after the event. We will even send you a copy of the picture by email and a printed copy.

There will be a prize for the best costume (this is open to adults and children)

So get those thinking caps or or needles to the ready if you are going to make a costume.

The fair is at Cheslea Town Hall on the 4th December 11am - 5pm

We Make Christmas Fair

After six successful fairs We Make is pleased to announce its seventh fair, this year’s Christmas fair.

This will take place at Chelsea Old Town Hall, Kings Road, London on 4^th December 2010.

The Venue:

Situated on Kings Road, Chelsea town hall is a perfect location for a high volume of passing trade and shoppers. The beautiful building with original oil paintings, marbled floors and columns and chandeliers creates a fantastic surrounding for a fair. The facilities available include the main hall, surrounding hall ways, and two smaller rooms.

The Date:

We Makes Christmas fair will take place on 4^th December 2010. The doors will open at 11am till 5pm. With set up from 10am.

Application Process:

If you would like to apply for a stall at our Christmas Fair please email us at wemakelondon@googlemail.com

Completed application forms along with 3 -5 good quality images must be returned to us by email by midnight on the 31st July 2010. The images will be used in our selection process so please make sure they are a good, clear representation of your work.

The application process deadline is 31^st July 2010. All applications will be collated until then. Please note we do not accept applications on a first come first served basis, our selection is based on quality of products and maintaining a vast range of products throughout the fair.

We will then let everyone know by the end of the second week of August if they have a stall.

Autumn Gift Guide

A fantastic reason to come to We Make is to start buying your Christmas presents for your friends and family. To help you with some ideas and to give you a look at what kind of wonderful items you can expect to see at the fair we are putting together some gift guides as ideas for your nearest and dearest. We decided to start off with an autumn gift guide to show you all the wonderful autumnal products that you can buy from our wonderful stall holders.

Tending the Garden Under My Skin

This beautiful floral necklace by myaprodite drums up an image of the end of summer. The pretty green and red beads add that autumn touch, perfect to take you into the winter season.

The days are certainly getting chilly so why not warm up yourself with a good old cup of tea. This tea cosy from chichimoi will brighten up even the dullest of teapots.

By day Margarida is a biologist, currently working on Environmental Toxicology. Yes a scientist! A far cry from the world of felt crafting!

Margarida says:

“I love to craft because I like to create things without rules and limits. It’s amazing when I imagine something in my mind and then I’m able to create it.

It also transports me to wonderful and quiet places! It’s like a spa…”

Margarida loves to travel, exploring new places and cultures.

All her designs are unique and original, so it is no surprise that much of the inspiration for her felt creations come from microscopic organisms.

Margarida makes very few pieces of each design, which attracts young trendy customers that like originality in their style. These delightful felt creations are vibrant, funky and nearly always multi-coloured.

Mr Comma is a particular favourite (pictured above) He was the first plush that Margarida designed so it has great sentimental value. He is super fun, bright, colourful and very cute indeed! He will make you smile and will make the perfect stocking filler this Christmas!

Margarida is currently busy designing a new A/W brooch collection. The colours are somewhat unusual for the season, and will feature dark red, mustard, purple, a lot of grey and dark blue, mostly.

Spotlight- Sakura

Hi and welcome to the start of a new season at WeMake. We will be introducing you to our wonderful designers and their work and to start us off, please met Anna aka Sakura Jewellery. Thank you for stopping by.

As a London solicitor, Anna was becoming increasingly buried in the stresses and strains of life in the corporate world. Anna says:

“My work as a lawyer was interesting in that it provided a technical challenge, but the environment didn't nurture me spiritually and left me very little time to pursue anything creative outside of work. So, I decided it was time for a complete overhaul of not only my career but my life!”

Nowadays designing and making jewellery IS Anna’s day job which gives her plenty of time to concentrate on the important things; her designs. A clear theme running through Anna’s work is nature and she captures the beauty of it throughout her work, be it recreating the essence of flowers and leaves, or working with the natural beauty of a gemstone.

Anna’s business name ‘Sakura’ comes for the Japanese name for cherry blossom, hinting at Anna’s half-Japanese heritage. There is a very Japanese feel to her designs, which shows in the delicate detailing and strong colours.

The Sakura blossom features in her ‘Dew’ necklace a version of which Anna wore at her blessing ceremony (non-legal wedding ceremony) held in Holland back in May of this year. Anna’s love of the colour teal also shines through in this piece.
