Panto Time:

The theme for the fair is pantomime, we have heard rumours that Sow White and Peter Pan will be paying a visit with some other panto friends. We are running a fancy dress competition. Arrive in fancy dress and you will be given free entry. You will also have your picture taken by our lovely photographer Sibell Barrowclough. Choir:

We have a lovely choir The Jubilee Singers, they will be preforming at 11.30 til 12.00 and 12.30 til 1.00. They will be collecting money for charity.

Cafe:




To escape from the cold on saturday we are sure you will be tempted by the yummy menu on offer from our cafe at the town hall. Mince pies, yule log, festive sandwiches, and mulled wine, plus lots more. The cafe will be open all day.

About Charlotte Macey Textiles:

I began Charlotte Macey Textiles after realising that there were a lot of designers working for themselves and creating products that they had so much passion for. In the back of my mind my creativity kicked into gear, and before long I’d sampled my first tea towel and egg cosy, I still have them lurking in a drawer! I use a selection of imagery in my work, from wine glasses to beach huts, and also quintessentially British things such as tea cups and cupcakes. I incorporate pretty scraps of fabric and each item is entirely hand made in my studio.

Inspirations:

I am continually inspired by everything around me, and I wake up each day excited to start my day’s work, it’s wonderful. Every day in the studio is different, and I can’t beat the satisfaction when I finish a product and it heads off to its new home.

Best Sellers:

Since introducing my ‘wine glasses’ range earlier in the year, they have gone down an absolute storm! I began with cotton tea towels and have now introduced napkins and aprons to the range, I would definitely say they are my best seller.

We Make Christmas:

For Christmas 2010 I have launched my ‘puddings’ range, from aprons to a variety of cosies, tea towels, and napkins. I am also making a limited edition cotton stocking especially for the festive season, so all these goodies will be available at the Christmas fair. I can’t wait!

Etsy are Coming to Town

We Make are immensely proud that Etsy.com are our main sponsors for our Christmas Craft wonderland.

Etsy will be at the fair on Saturday and boy are you in for a treat.

What can you win?

Etsy were so impressed by the sellers at our Christmas Craft Wonderland that they thought you might need some extra money to help you take home your favorite items. How To Enter:

To enter you will need to purchase a item from any of the participating stalls at the fair. You will then be given a two part ticket. You need to take this to the Etsy stall to enter your ticket. You can enter as many times as you want so the more things you buy at the fair the more times you enter.

Fun Workshops At We Make London Christmas Craft Wonderland:

We are excited to announce that there will be three great workshops taking place at our We Make London Christmas Craft Wonderland on the 4th December 2010 at Chelsea Town Hall.

The full time table for the workshops is:

11am - 1pm Paper Christmas Decorations with Aimee Waller from Chateau Velvet

1pm - 3pm Beaded Snowflakes with Nicole Stanley from Holybird Beads

3pm - 5pm Fabric Headbands with Becky Gooby


You will be able to reserve a place on the workshops throughout the day at the main entrance or you can just drop in on the workshops when you arrive.

Here's a bit more information on what you can make and the lovely people that will be teaching you.

11am - 1pm Paper Christmas Decorations with Aimee Waller from Chateau Velvet





Since Graduating from Goldsmiths University, London, Aimee has turned her love of crafts and trinkets into something more. She produces individual hand-crafted greetings cards made from recycled papers, magazines,fabrics and other treasures she finds. All cards are lovingly put together and are left blank for you to add your own personal message tailored to make someone's day.
All of Aimee's designs are unique and no card is ever the same.



Having studied Drama and theatre Arts at University Aimee's inspiration comes from her love of black and white movies, vintage theatre, elegant fashions and time honoured music scores. These themes are revealed in the intricate embellishments adorning her cards.
At We Make Christmas Craft Wonderland Aimee will be showing you how to make wonderfully smart Christmas decorations for the tree by recycling magazines from this wonderfully festive period as well as adding a touch of sparkle and glamour. Suitable for everybody of all ages - all she asks is you bring a smile and some dazzling festive cheer!
The workshop will be free to take part and you can even purchase a goodie bag for £3.50


1pm - 3pm Beaded Snowflakes with Nicole Stanley from Holybird Beads



Nicole has been beadweaving for about 3 years - having spotted the technique in a jewellery making magazine she picked up some beads, a needle and some thread, and hasen't stopped since. Beadweaving involves stitching together lots of tiny beads, called seed beads, which come in every colour of the rainbow, and Nicole loves to add crystals, glass and any other beads that take her fancy to her work. This style of jewellery making does require patience (and good eyesight/glasses!) but she loves the intricacy and delicacy of this technique.



In the workshops we will be using seed beads and crystals to stitch a snowflake pattern which can be used as a Christmas tree decoration, or worn as a festive necklace pendant. We will be working in a beadweaving stitch known as "netting" with a needle and thread to create the snowflakes - but don't worry, we will be using relatively large seed beads for this piece, so you won't need your magnifying glass, just beady enthusiasm and festive spirit!

Workshop will cost £5 to make either one necklace or two christmas decorations


3pm - 5pm Fabric Headbands with Becky Gooby

Becky Gooby is a printed textile designer and trained, traditional upholsterer designing for interiors and soft furnishings.

Believing that fabrics, used on a daily basis, deserve more substance than a simple prettiness, her textile designs are a layer of considered narratives and veils of intellectual playfulness. Taking inspiration from scientific diagrams, mechanical drawings and obscure historical figures, she resolves her concepts through established design methods, considering colour, repeat, drape and purpose.

Combining an artistic train of thought with a desire to create functional, beautiful fabrics, Becky Gooby's designs seek to bring a different aesthetic to your home.

Make your own hairband workshop

Using satin covered hair bands, or a bandeau for a more vintage look, customise and create your own hair piece. Guided by Becky Gooby, a textile designer and maker, you will learn how to put together a corsage, flower shape or butterfly using simple sewing techniques which can be worn on a hairband as a fascinator. Creat as a gift or to keep all for your very own. Children's bandeaus available. Workshop not suitable for young children without an adult's supervision.
