About Blueberry Blue:
What did you start doing what you do?
I’ve worked all my adult life in the film business but since having my daughter three years ago, I realised I could no longer work the same hours and see her when she’s awake – so I chose my favourite things to do – bake and make - and combined them in a business.
Why did you choose your business name?
I wanted a food-related theme/name without it being exclusively so – and I love the colour of blueberries with their flush of white on that dark blue…
How long have you been doing what you do?
I started cooking when I was very young, standing on a chair in the kitchen watching and helping my mother – but only started my business Christmas 2010.
What else they you like to do?
I like to sew too. I love art and wish I could paint, but I can’t . So sewing & cooking let me create with colours, texture and form in a way that pleases my creative streak.
What is your ultimate goal for your business?
To get a Royal Warrant and make biscuits for the Queen!
If you could make something for a famous person who and what would it be....?
I’d make an outfit of biscuits for Lady Gaga topped off with a crazy biscuit hat.
Inspirations:
My mother, who is my best friend, cook and artist. My daughter who is a constant joy and my husband who puts up with me with grace, patience and an unfailing sense of humour.
Best Sellers:
I love to make biscuits that are art. These Japanese inspired biscuits are incredibly intricate and people can’t believe you can eat them!
We Make Summer Boutique:
Adults and children love my pencil biscuits, they’re fun and make everyone smile and talk.
