Rose Sharp Jones Designer Feature:

About Rose Sharp Jones:

I am a textile designer specialising in knitted, crocheted and printed fabrics. I established my business at the beginning of 2009 after completing an MA in Textile Design at Chelsea College of Art and Design, having graduated a few years earlier from a BA at Central Saint Martins. I now produce a collection of hand made textile items including jewellery, scarves and mittens.
I make all items myself using fabrics that are either hand or machine knitted, crocheted or screen-printed. All are made using organic and sustainable materials, and all printing uses organic fabric and environmentally friendly water based pigments.

Inspirations:

Having always knitted, drawn and worked with textiles I studied this subject at degree level. Much of my inspiration comes from traditional textile techniques and finding contemporary applications for these. I am conscious of the environmental and ethical impact of materials and therefore use only organic and sustainable resources throughout my work.

Best Sellers:

The crocheted mittens are my bestsellers. Originally made from wool yarn I am producing a cotton version for 2010. They are a good representation of my work as they use traditional techniques for a contemporary product, and are made from organic materials.

We Make Summer Fair:

I will be selling hand made knitted and crocheted accessories. My new summer collection will be available, featuring cotton hats, snoods and new jewellery pieces. I will also have a new collection of printed fabrics applied to bags and cushions.
