Charlotte Macey Textiles are lovingly created in the heart of the Cotswolds; each item is produced by hand using high quality, locally sourced fabrics. I combine fresh and distinctive designs with quality fabrics and craftsmanship, to make individual and unique products to treasure in your home.
My distinctive signature illustrations, both hand-drawn and stitched, are instantly recognizable; using elongated and quirky items such as cupcakes, I explore imagery from the everyday.
My stylized illustrations have caught the eye of keen art collectors and homeowners since graduating in Contemporary Textile Practice BA (hons) in June 2006, with one-off pieces and home ware items decorating homes around the UK.
Inspirations:
At university I worked mainly with illustrative stitch and paper, and more recently have discovered the amazing satisfaction of creating something from fabric. I find inspiration in the ‘everyday’, and the people and things that I see, and am continually inspired by the landscape and colours of the surrounding countryside.
Best Sellers:
My ‘beach huts tea cosy’ is my signature piece, it was one of my original products, and still gets so much positive feedback, the stitched beach huts also feature on the linen tea towels that I make.
We Make London:
For We Make Christmas I will be selling my current range of home ware items, making lovely Christmas gifts, and will have mince pies for those lucky enough to get to me first!
