Kate Clarke London Designer Feature:

About Kate Clarke London:

Why did you start doing what you do?
I discovered screen printing when I was at art college, fell instantly in love with the process and have been doing it ever since!

How long have you been doing what you do?
I have been a graphic designer for 10 years, designing childrens book covers as my day job and screen printing during my evenings and at weekends. I started developing my first range of products in November of 2009 finally launching them in November last year.

What else they you like to do?
I love design, art, interior design, children's books, illustration and printmaking of every kind! I spend as much of my time cutting, sticking, doodling, printing and making as I possibly can..

What is your ultimate goal for your business?
I would love to create a range of wallpaper and bedding designs one day. That would make me very happy!

Inspirations:

I think my work reflects my love of textile and pattern design. I'm particularly influenced by Scandinavian, Japanese and 1950's textiles. I am inspired by everything around me (especially nature) and am constantly looking for interesting shapes and colours that work well together.
I spend a lot of my time cutting little paper shapes and creating sketchbooks full of indeas to use one day...
