Paper Cutting Workshop Details:

Papercutting for Beginners To book a place on this workshop click here: Wedenesday 6th July

Date: Wednesday 6th July
Time: 6.30pm to 9.30pm (three hours)
Level: Beginners
Teacher: Suzy Taylor
Price: £48
Maximum Class Size: 10 people

In this workshop you will create a small papercutting, either of your own design, or if that seems too scary, then from one of Suzy’s own templates.  You do not need to be able to draw in order to produce a beautiful papercutting.  You will learn what type of design makes a successful papercut and how to use the craft knife to achieve the best results. You will also be shown how to mount your work on backing paper/card.
Each person will leave with at least one finished small papercutting, (15cm x 15cm) complete with backing paper/card and cellophane sleeve to protect your finished artwork.

Please bring along a sketchbook, pencil, eraser and some ideas or pictures for a papercutting.  We will be working on paper which is 15cm x 15cm.  Themes that work well for papercuts are trees, flowers, houses, people – but don’t feel limited to those themes.

About Suzy:

I'm a papercutting artist working from my home in North London. My work is strongly influenced by American and European folk art and reflects themes of nature and rural life. All papercut are my own original designs and are cut with a craft knife from a single piece of paper.
