Designer Feature Series: Meet Something Wonderful Design

About Something Wonderful Design
It all started when I developed a bit of a thing for potato prints as a toddler... after a fun and unconventional childhood, mainly spent either travelling or attempting to sell fortune tellers and homemade perfume round our estate, I went to art college and fell in love with the printmaking studio. Five years and four children later, I decided to join the little ones in their artistic endeavours, and moving on from potatoes to linoprint, set up Something Wonderful Design. Within a year I'd had work published in a stunning design book, and now sell online with notonthehighstreet and in selected London and Hertfordshire shops and galleries, running print workshops whenever I can.

Inspirations
I believe perfection lies in imperfection, and love the way linoprint brings unexpected results. Something Wonderful Design is all about modern design, using traditional techniques. The old-fashioned method of cutting a design and handprinting it translates into really fresh and exciting work when filtered through the world of 21st century advertising and imagery. I love typography and colour, songs, signs and the seaside, and make artwork and homeware using various printmaking mathods including lino, screenprinting and letterpress.

Best Sellers

My best-selling piece is the iconic 'Love' design- one of the pieces of work published. I hand-print this onto canvases, cards, and most popular of all onto sheet music. Just for We Make Christmas, you can order your own Personalised Sheet Music Love Poster at a special price of £20 (normally £25)- your special song transformed into a really personal piece of artwork, delivered free of charge in time for Christmas.

Also for We Make Christmas, I will be offering an inspiring mixture of framed limited edition posters and gift-wrapped canvases ready to take away. Something for grown-ups to give and keep: posters with lines from songs, Christmas bunting and gorgeous cards, and something for the little ones, including my new Toot Toot Beep Beep prints, made using a vintage letterpress block of a London bus. Plus cards, tags, bunting, badges- and more!
